4 reasons Aussie truck drivers are replacing flat seat pads with this one-piece cushion
Long shifts expose what ordinary foam can’t hide: concentrated pressure, gradual slumping and constant readjusting. Here’s what makes the NilPoint AirGap design different.
A long-haul seat is already engineered. Then we add a soft, flat pad on top—and expect it to stay comfortable through hours of vibration, heat and micro-adjustments.
For many drivers, it doesn’t. Soft foam can compress flat. Ring cushions can shift pressure to a different edge. Bulky wedges can noticeably change your driving position.
“The real test isn’t how a cushion feels for five minutes. It’s whether you stop thinking about it halfway through the shift.”
NilPoint took a simpler route: a contoured one-piece cushion built around an open rear channel—the AirGap—to reduce direct contact at the tailbone area while supporting the seat around it.

A standard pad spreads foam across the entire seat—including the sensitive centre-rear area. NilPoint’s open AirGap channel creates clearance there, while the surrounding cushion carries your seated weight.
The design goal is straightforward: less direct contact, fewer constant readjustments.
It’s shaped to support—not disappear underneath you
Cheap foam can feel plush at first and progressively compress as the shift goes on. NilPoint uses a denser, responsive structure with raised side support to keep the cushion feeling consistent.
That firmer foundation helps distribute contact across the seat rather than relying on one ultra-soft layer.
It encourages a more settled driving position
After hours on the road, the pelvis can roll back and the upper body follows. That familiar slump can turn into a loop of leaning, shuffling and bracing.
NilPoint’s contoured base is designed to help you sit more evenly and keep your hips centred—without the extreme forward tilt of a steep wedge.
It works with the seat you already drive
No installation. No straps around controls. Place the channel towards the rear of the seat, sit down, then recheck your normal mirror and pedal position before moving off.
The low-profile shape is portable between the prime mover, ute, office chair or home—so your setup isn’t left behind when the shift ends.
A seat cushion—but not the flat slab you know
Each part has one clear job. Together they create a stable, breathable-feeling base for long seated stretches.
- OPEN AIRGAP

A realistic first few shifts
What customers tell us
“By the end of an eight-hour shift I’m not constantly moving around trying to find a better spot.”
“The big difference for me is stability over rough sections. It feels supportive without being a giant booster.”
“I sit more square now. I still take my proper breaks, but the time between them feels more manageable.”
60 days to road-test it
A showroom sit can’t recreate your route. NilPoint gives you 60 days to try the cushion in the seat and conditions that actually matter to you. See the product page for current trial terms and exclusions.

Will it fit an air-suspension truck seat?
It’s designed as a portable, low-profile cushion for most standard vehicle and work seats. Check the listed dimensions on the product page against your usable seat base, especially if your seat has deep bolsters.
Will it change my driving position?
Any cushion adds some height. After placing it, check mirrors, pedals, belt placement and access to all controls before driving. Adjust your seat only while safely parked.
Which way does the AirGap face?
The open channel faces the rear of the seat. Sit centrally and make small position changes during a safe stop if required.
Is the cover washable?
The cover is removable for easier cleaning. Follow the care instructions supplied with the product.
Does this replace fatigue breaks?
No. A cushion is a comfort aid, not a fatigue-management device. Always follow your required work/rest hours, take breaks and seek medical advice for persistent pain or numbness.
